The purpose of the St. Barnabas Arbitration and Mediation Guild is to provide arbitration and mediation for Catholic parties who are contemplating or already involved in civil litigation, in obedience to the clear teaching of St. Paul in his First Letter to the Corinthians:

DARE any of you, having a matter against another, go to be judged before the unjust and not before the saints? (1 Corinthians 6:1)

It is truly astonishing to contemplate the number of leaders of traditional Catholic groups who have taken other Catholics to civil court in recent years!  This means that a huge portion of the resources of these organizations is being diverted from the Kingdom of God and going to legal fees—when one of the faithful Catholic attorneys associated with the St. Barnabas Arbitration and Mediation Guild could help them reach a just resolution of their grievances for a fraction of what they are paying to litigate in civil court.
